They are made with a few simple ingredients and baked to perfection! I used St. Dalfour Orange Marmalade to keep them Whole30 but you can easily swap out peach or apricot spread as well. These Orange Chicken Wings are healthy, super easy and the perfect blend of sweet and spicy that the whole family will love. If you like finger licking good chicken this is the recipe for you! The best part is they are Whole30 and Paleo friendly.
Ingredients You Will Need
Chicken Wings: I prefer organic chicken wings that never receive antibiotics or hormones and are treated humanely.
Arrowroot Powder: Arrowroot powder, a versatile thickening agent in recipes, serves as an excellent alternative to cornstarch or flour without impacting the flavor of a dish. Additionally, it's worth noting that arrowroot powder and arrowroot flour are interchangeable, allowing you to use either one in your cooking.
Garlic Powder: Using garlic powder over minced garlic is best in this recipe as it easily dissipates into the sauce for a better overall texture.
Ground Cumin: Cumin, with its warm and earthy notes, lends a distinctive aromatic flavor that's quintessential to many Southwest seasoning blends.
Cayenne Pepper: Cayenne Pepper is a moderately hot chili pepper used to flavor dishes. It has a strong spicy but earthy flavor so use less if you do not like a lot of heat.
Smoked Paprika: Smoked paprika introduces a distinct smoky flavor that complements the other spices, adding depth and a unique taste.
Orange Marmalade: Marmalade is a fruit preserve made from the juice and peel of the citrus fruit.
Lime: Squeezing lime juice into the marmalade adds a burst of freshness to the marmalade sauce.
Green onion: Also known as scallions, green onions impart a mild, onion-like flavor and a touch of freshness.
Avocado oil spray: Is very versatile and has a neutral flavor that can be used for baking, high-heat cooking, sautéing and frying.

Recipe Tips and Tricks
Chicken Wings: To get your wings to crisp up I always make sure they are patted dry and then coat them in arrowroot powder. This helps dry the fat from the skin resulting in a crispy wing!
Recipe Variations
Orange Marmalade: you can use a variation of fruit spreads for this recipe. Peach or Apricot work especially well.
Storage Tips
Refrigerator: Chicken wings can be stored in the fridge for 4-5 days when placed in a sealed airtight glass container.
Freezer: The wings can be stored after cooked for up to 6 months.
FAQs About Orange Chicken Wings
What is the difference between jam, jelly, preserves and spread?
Jam is typically made by smashing the fruit and will have some chunks of fruit and a lot more sugar. Jelly is made from strained fruit juice and will have a smoother consistency. Preserves have large pieces of fruit in it. Spreads are made from 100% fruit with no sugar added and typically sweetened with white grape juice of apple juice and offer the purest fruit flavor.
Can I use chicken thighs instead of wings?
Yes! You absolutely can but I recommend only bone in and skin on for this recipe and you may need to bake a little longer until the chicken reaches 165˚ at its thickest part.
What goes good with Orange Chicken Wings?
I like to make a quick and easy green bean stir fry or cauliflower rice sautéed in sesame oil with green onions and some ginger added.
